- SILVER LAKE WHOLE-HOME REMODEL
Our First Big Remodel. We're Still Working in That House.
Every contractor has their first big job. Sonja's was ours.
She was a friend, and she needed her house remodeled. At the time, KRB Concepts was heading toward hardscape — outdoor work, patios, that direction. She asked us to remodel her home instead, and we said yes.
That one project is the reason KRB Concepts is a home remodeling company today.

Relationship
KRB Concepts' first major remodel — and a repeat client
Phase 1 ran about a year and touched nearly every room in the house.
Downstairs: an office, a living space, a bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs: the kitchen, another bathroom, and three more bedrooms. Jason laid out the kitchen. Three things from that phase still stop people:
- The stair railing. Jason designed and built it custom. Of everything in the house, it's the piece we point at first.
- The fireplace. Rebuilt as a feature of the living space rather than a thing on a wall.
- The skylights. They changed what the upstairs feels like in a way photographs of the finished kitchen only half explain.
Sonja made most of her own material selections on this phase, and she has good taste — that kitchen is the room we chose to lead with on the KRB Concepts homepage. Jason handled the kitchen design and layout, and our crews built all of it.
Why we're back
Years later, the house flooded.
Sonja called us. Not a restoration outfit she found on a list — us, the contractor who'd already rebuilt her home once. We're in that house right now, replacing all the flooring throughout and remodeling two bathrooms.
That's the honest measure of how the first project went. Homeowners don't hire the same contractor twice out of habit. Photographs are easy. A client who calls you back years later, when something has gone badly wrong in her home, is not.
There's one difference this time. Tasha wasn't with KRB during Phase 1, so the original selections weren't hers. On this phase they are — new flooring colors throughout, and materials in the bathrooms chosen for quality that will hold up. Some of it is going to look considerably better than what was there.
